Visual Identity of the Year 2026
The visual identity of the year
The NZR team developed the Uch umbrella brand to unify multiple projects created by the company MaraRobotics. Building on the company’s research in thermoelectrics, MaraRobotics created UchGuch nano ink, a material that enables wearable-device developers to design technology capable of self-charging using body heat.
Uch represents a world defined by freedom, safety, and abundant clean energy. The Uch mark is the brand’s most recognizable asset, designed to function effectively at both large and small scales.
The logotype is modular where the Uch component remains constant, while the second part is interchangeable (e.g. UchGuch, UchEnergy, UchWear) depending on the product or sub-brand.
The logo draws on graphic references such as a smiley face and a power plug, combining friendliness with technological utility. It consists of three colours/elements, each symbolizing a core brand value.
These colours are used consistently across all brand materials to create a memorable visual identity. The brand gradient is inspired by the chemical element Bismuth, one of the components of the nano ink. The U-mark is integrated into a pattern, which appears in its primary palette of brand green and lime green. Typography is based on a minimalist sans-serif approach, using Montserrat in various weights for corporate communications, presentations, and digital materials.
The overall branding presents this revolutionary technology as friendly, open, and approachable, embodied most clearly by the “smiling U” within the logo, which serves as a key visual element throughout the identity.
